This is a student project, it called for a poster to promote a music event for a real or fictional band while incorporating a custom photo. This fictional band includes the Poprocks performing their "Burst with Excitement" tour at the Thundercat Lounge. The photos of the sky and Poprocks were modified in Adobe Photoshop. The blend modes of the Poprocks were changed in Adobe Illustrator to blend into the sky photo to create an intriguing background. The Poprocks logo was used to display the band. The headline and text used a thin and narrow font to balance out the big bubbly logo. Then, these were duplicated at a lower opacity and additional effects like outer glow and stained glass were added on top of the text to create the Poprocks texture. The plane and faces on the Poprocks were drawn using the pen tool. The fireworks were created using the line tool and duplicated repeatedly with various effects like texturizer, outer glow, and grain. The color scheme was drawn from the flavors of the Poprocks.
